The Toile de Jouy

The iconic toile de Jouy was chosen to adorn our spring edition.

Available in different patterns and shades, the blue and red designs are called “Oberkampf” in homage to Mr. Oberkampf. He was the founder of the Jouy-en-Josas factory, from the archives from which the designs come. Toile de Jouy is not a painted fabric like any other. She is among the most appreciated ambassadors of French taste and traditional know-how throughout the world. Indeed, this fabric is a great classic from the 18th century which is still popular today.

In order to bring excellence up to date, Le Lissier combines this French fabric with the refined design of its lace-up and Velcro sneakers and slip-ons. The result is completely unique, offering a contrast between the fabric and the modernity of the sneaker. The toile de Jouy brings to this last personality and singularity. This painted cotton will prove its resistance despite its thin weight.

The sneakers will be available in three traditional colors: blue, anthracite and red, as well as a rarer shade: fawn. Each of these colors has a different theme with its own illustrations. When one tells the interest of the conquest of the air in the 20th century, the other takes up scenes of everyday life and landscapes. These four seasonal colors are available for men and women.
